SECTION 4.

Junior Clerical Service.

We consider that the division of Class VI

of the Junior Clerical Service into two sections "A"

and "B" serves a very useful purpose and should be

retained, the minimum salary of VIA. being fixed at

$950 per annum.

8:

Secured Shroffs. We recommend that the

higher starting salaries formerly.given to Class VI,

Secured Shroffs should be perpetuated i.e. that

Shroffs giving $1,000 security should start at $750 per annum and those giving $2,000 at $850 per annum.

9. The change in the conditions for leave of

Indian Staff recommended by paragraph 54 of the

Salaries Report necessitates a general revision of

the rules on this point. We recommend that these

rules be now framed on the same basis as those for

other staff not domiciled locally, as follows:-

Vacation leave to be granted at the

(11)

rate of 18 days per annum accumulable

up to 90 days.

'

Falf-pay leave to be granted at the

standard rate of 2 months per annum,

accumulabls up to 10 months, all or

any of which may be commuted.
